  • About the Artist: Jangal Arts is an artist-run baby business created by Sarah Malik in 2017. Sarah is a South Asian settler and a queer artist and anti-oppression worker living and working in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Through Jangal Arts Sarah creates art to soothe, inspire, and bring joy in difficult times. Jangal Arts designs are inspired by everyday experiences of racialized, queer and trans, and disabled people. Jangal Arts works express concepts like happiness, love, grief, anxiety, struggle, comfort, and more in a way that reflects the realities of communities Sarah belongs to and cares about.

Sarah works in a variety of media including pen and ink, paint, pencil crayon, and digital. She has also dabbled in ceramics, textile, and cut paper, and can often be found in her home studio (a corner of the living room) messing around with new materials and techniques. While Sarah’s work comes in many different styles, Jangal Arts work features prominent line work, pattern, and bold colour. Also, there are a lot of cute animals and puns.
