Parks are places that everyone can enjoy. They are essential to our health, identity, economy, and culture. They are are also homes to millions of other creatures. Parks contain life’s magic and we believe it is important that all people have a chance to connect with, share in and preserve them. The demand for parks is growing, with over one million more visits each year in the last six years to BC's parks. The pressure on recreation, wildlife, habitat and ecosystems is increasing through rising park use, and threats like pollution and climate change. The most treasured places in our great province need support or we risk losing what makes British Columbia the beautiful place we love. To preserve and enhance these magic places, we do five things. First, we buy land to create new parks. Second, we add or enhance trails, huts, and other facilities to parks. Third, we help preserve wildlife through habitat protection, monitoring and restoration. Fourth, we connect people to parks and encourage responsible use. We give vulnerable populations and new Canadians a chance to experience parks, and we give youth jobs as park ambassadors and technology developers. Finally, we inspire people to love, care for, and sustain parks. We do all of these things by empowering and mobilizing park supporters, and by working with park agencies. We have achieved amazing results by using crowdsourcing-- giving everyone a chance to be involved. We work close with companies and their employees, who both contribute to and benefit from the good will that is associated with parks. By generating and sharing good will, we are creating the best parks system on earth. That's a legacy for our children about which we can all be proud. Please consider joining us.
